18th International Symposium on Shiftwork and Working
Time
Yeppoon QLD, Australia
Second Announcement
Dear Colleagues
The 18th symposium is ever closer to a reality!
The review process will soon be completed and I wish to thank all members of the organizing committee and volunteers from the WTS board for this on-time accomplishment. Collectively we have reviewed some 125 high quality abstracts.
The organizing committee has worked hard to prepare a sound academic program balanced with time-out for us to unwind and enjoy each others company. We promised “you a stimulating environment in which to discuss research and a relaxing environment in which to make and renew friendships.”
The oral presentations are anchored with keynote presentations from Giovanni Costa, Simon Folkard, Stephen Popkin and Phillipa Gander will provide the closing keynote. The organizing committee has worked closely with colleagues from the World Sleep Congress and indeed, we have allocated some space for a dedicated symposia on sleep.
On the fun side; the opening ceremony on Monday night will feature Aboriginal dancers and a pool side BBQ. On Thursday, delegates have the option of taking an island cruise or a visit to the Rockhampton Zoo to get acquainted with our native animals. Thursday night is also the conference dinner, so be prepared to let your hair down with a Rock n’ Roll night!
The website has been updated to provide you with some useful information. However you should always feel welcome to email your questions to shiftwork2007@cqu.edu.au
We look forward to greeting you in Yeppoon.
Lee Di Milia, Chair of the Organising Committee
Giovanni Costa, President of the WTS
