Location

Rydges resort is located at Yeppoon in the State of Queensland (QLD), Australia. It is located close to where the Tropic of Capricorn crosses Australia’s east coast. The climate is sub-tropical and while August is considered ‘winter’, day temperatures will be in low to mid 20s (degrees Celsius). Night temperatures will range about 15 – 18 degrees. International and national delegates will need to fly to Brisbane (QLD) and connect with flights to Rockhampton Airport (one hour flight). The following carriers fly to Rockhampton; Qantas www.qantas.com.au , Jetstar www.jetstar.com.au and Virgin Blue www.virginblue.com.au On arrival you will be taken by bus from “Rocky” airport to the resort (about 45 minutes).

If you intend going on to Cairns there is no direct flight from Rockhampton. You have two choices: a) fly back to Brisbane and get a direct flight, or b) fly from Rockhampton to Mackay / Townsville / Cairns.

Some people may be interested in driving to Yeppoon. Please note this is a distance of some 700 km north from Brisbane. Cairns is a further 1200 km from Rockhampton. You are also advised that the highway does not follow the coastline.
