Instructions for Presentations
Your presentation must be in Office 2003 format
Below you will find instruction and guidelines for oral and poster presentations. Introduction speakers, chairpersons, key note speakers and columnists are kindly requested to check in with the Information Desk for further instructions.
Oral Presentations

Oral presentations will take place in the combined Jucarra or Golden Cane Rooms.

Each session will start with an introduction from the chairperson on the session’s theme. All speakers are requested to meet the chairperson before the session begins and to give him/her a brief written note on how you would like to be introduced.

The chairperson will be instructed to keep the session on time and will, therefore, allow only a total presentation time of 15 minutes. Your presentation should last no longer than 12 minutes and 3 minutes should be used for discussion. Please make sure that you start and end your presentation on time, as staggered sessions require strict time management.

During the discussion, repeat questions from the audience before you answer them.

All PowerPoint presentation must be handed to the Secretariat at the Registration Deck by at least the session prior to your presentation. You may also e-mail your presentation to the Secretariat prior to but no later than Friday, 24 August 2007, to the Symposium to shiftwork2007@cqu.edu.au .
3 minute Oral plus Poster Presentations

Poster authors will be given the opportunity to present their research in a 3 minute oral plus one-slide poster presentation. ,

The chairperson will be instructed to keep the session on time and will, therefore allow only 1 slide and a total presentation time of 3 minutes.

The aim of this presentation is to introduce your subject and main findings to all symposium participants and to raise their interest in visiting your poster.

Posters will be on display in Alexander Room.

The space for a poster is 100 cm high x 75 cm wide. The poster can be placed by using tape or pins.

Your poster should be self-exploratory in such a way that symposium participants are able to read it by themselves. Put your contact details on the poster, so participants can contact you – during or after the symposium – if they have any enquiries.

Please make sure that you start and end your presentation on time, as the schedule requires very strict time management.

You must hand in your PowerPoint presentation to the Secretariat at Registration by the evening prior to the day of presentation. Alternatively you may e-mail your presentation to shiftwork2007@cqu.edu.au prior to the symposium no later than Friday 24 August 2007.
Technical Equipment
The symposium organization will provide the following presentation equipment:

Microsoft Window Laptops and data projectors for PowerPoint presentations (No MAC computers will be available)

Your presentation can be sent electronically prior to the symposium no later than 5.00 pm on Friday, 24 August 2007 (Queensland Time) to shiftwork2007@cqu.edu.au . Alternatively you may hand in your presentation to the Secretariat at Registration. Please ensure your presentation is saved either on a USB/Memory stick or CD.
